Vision, Values and Rewards

Thank you to all the parents who responded and gave feedback on the school Vision and Values. From this information we have a new school motto and an expanded set of values.

Ridgeway Motto

"Forging Exceptional Individuals"

School Values

We are excited to launch an expanded set of values. These are now linked to our Gold Awards whereby children who demonstrate these receive a certificate in our Celebration Assembly.

  • 🌱 Resilience - Getting back up when things go wrong. Even when something is hard or doesn’t go your way, you keep trying and don’t give up.
  • 💖 Kindness - Being nice and caring to others. You help people, use kind words, and work harmoniously with others and as a team.
  • 🔍 Curiosity - Wanting to learn and know more. You ask questions, explore new things, and enjoy discovering how the world works.
  • 😊 Joy - Feeling really happy inside. It’s the big smile you get when you’re having fun or doing something you love.
  • 🧠 Self-control - Making good choices, even when it’s hard. You stop and think before you act, and you manage your feelings and actions.
  • 🦁 Bravery - Doing something even if it feels a little scary. You try new things, speak up, or help others, even when you feel nervous.
  • 🌟 Aspiration - Dreaming big and wanting to do your best. You set goals and imagine all the amazing things you can become or do.

School Rules

We also want our children to be prepared for their next steps in life, and, as such, we have implemented a new set of school rules. These will help the children to know how to behave, and to know what is acceptable and what is not.

The Always Tea

The Always Tea is a new termly reward for children who demonstrate the following;

  • Always at school, everyday
  • Always on time
  • Always in the correct school uniform
  • Always following the school rules

It is an 'alway tea' for a reason, not just sometimes or even most of the time. This is an aspirational reward and one we designed to inspire pride in attending school.

What happens at the Always Tea will change every time, so will not always be a tea as such. The children will be invited to attend. They will also be able to wear their own clothes/non-uniform on the day of the Always Tea. It will take place in the following weeks to account for a whole terms attendance;

Week beginning 5th January 2026, 13th April 2026  and 29th June 2026

All rewards, newly introduced and previous rewards, will be reviewed at the end of the year by all the children.
