Dear Partner School,
We thought that it would be useful to get in touch with you with a few updates relating to the Inspiring Leaders SCITT which as you know will begin in late August 2015.
We are currently working hard to recruit trainees to our programme and currently have 25 confirmed across Nottinghamshire and Leicestershire. As you know will know we are hoping to recruit 60 trainees so we have a sizeable plan for the remainder of the year to ensure we fill our course. In order to help us recruit our places we would like your support. Could we please ask you all as partner schools to include the following statement on your school website with a link to our SCITT site and including our logo attached.
“PRIMARY TEACHER TRAINING COURSE – STARTS AUGUST 2015 – APPLY HERE”
(Insert School Name) is a partner school of Inspiring Leaders Teacher Training, a school led training provider working across Leicestershire and Nottinghamshire. We are currently recruiting trainees for our course which starts late August 2015.
If you are a career changer thinking of teaching, a recent graduate with a good degree or a final year undergraduate our new 1 year School Direct Teacher Training course could be for you. For more details about our course please visit our website www.inspiringleaderstoday.com/teacher-training (If this could be a bubble saying ‘click here’ that would be great) or call us on 0116 318 4066.
In addition to the web presence we kindly ask you to send out the attached letter to parents and stakeholders via your school comms channels, paper or email so that we can raise the profile of our programme.
As you will see from our numbers of trainees we are beginning to best place those accepted on the course to their Autumn Term host school. We will be in touch with you soon to confirm to you the name(s) of this trainee(s). As you are aware we will be working hard to ensure that each school receives two trainees per term in line with our planning and agreed training process. As in years before we will do our best to keep you updated as to the name of the trainees being placed in your school. Please be aware that this may not happen until very late into the Summer 2 term and may even not be in place until during the summer holiday period, should we need to continue to recruit at this stage. If any point we expect that we will under recruit we will be in touch to talk about arrangements at that point.
Could we please ask you to complete the attached school placement fact sheet for us so that we can get a more detailed understanding of placement classes and year groups in your school, could we ask you to return this by Friday 8th May. Once completed email this to Ben Jordan on email@example.com
In order to bring you as schools up to speed with how our SCITT will operate next year and to introduce you informally to some of our newly recruited trainees we would like to invite you to our induction morning on Friday 22nd May at Holywell Park Conference Centre at Loughborough University. This is due to start at 9:30am and lunch will be served from 12:30pm.
The session is essential for all partner schools to attend and we invite you to stay for a light lunch to meet our trainees who will be arriving in the afternoon for their induction. Schools do not need to stay for the afternoon, this is only for trainees.
Please can you confirm who will be attending from your school by emailing me at firstname.lastname@example.org
Training for Learning Coaches
We will be inviting each schools Learning Coach to a full day training event on the 6th July which will include a session on the role of the Learning Coach, making judgements and observations schedule. The venue is TBC nearer the time. In addition, with us being a new SCITT there will be some really important paperwork being explained during this session which schools must attend so that our processes are consistent across the SCITT. If you learning coach is due to change from your original application please inform us by emailing Ben Jordan on email@example.com
As we are now a SCITT we will be centrally DBS Check all trainees in line with adjustments to the 1997 Police Act in respect of the Communication of Information about individual enhanced disclosure and barring service (Child workforce) certificate.
For this reason we will not be able to share information relating to the students DBS number with partner schools, this will be stored centrally and securely with Inspiring Leaders Teacher Training and the process for completing DBS checks with trainees will be managed in line with policy change. Information from the National College states that it is a criminal offense for a provider to share the information obtain a DBS or for schools to request it. We can confirm that all trainees that are accepted onto our programme do so with an enhanced Disclosure and Barring certificate.
If you have any further questions please do not hesitate to contact me.
We hope you find this update useful and look forward to receiving confirmation of your attendance on the 22nd May and at our Learning Coach training on the 6th July.
